Google Apps as Starter Pack for Teachers in the New Normal Education

Brief Description

In this pandemic, educational system of the Philippines gradually adapts to the New Normal which is the used of various learning modalities to address certain issues for the continuation of the vision and mission of the Department of Education.  Educational Technology plays a vital role for the said aims to support the implementation of the said modalities for better access amid pandemic. In line with this, teachers as frontliners of the department got the tough job and great adjustment to abide and adapt to this program.

Abstract

As teachers who experienced this New Normal in Education. It’s quite a nerve-wracking experience to face students in their online classes with least knowledge on how to facilitate it in front of their students with the thought in mind that they're more knowledgeable and exposed to this set up of teaching and learning.

The group aims to come up with a tutorial video that shows easy to follow, step by step ways to use google apps for teachers. This tutorial video is plan to be in kinaray-a/ hiligaynon medium of narration, this for the benefits of teachers who are not that familiar with technical terminologies. The video also contained short quiz about the Google App presented. This will be in a form of self-assessment evaluation where teachers will answer ten items multiple choice quiz with corresponding score descriptors.  

Targets

This proposal aims to gather data from teachers which are the target respondents of this project. Since the teachers are the frontliners in education, it is great challenge for them to embody themselves with the basic knowledge to adapt in the new mode of learning in times of pandemic. As we venture in the digital world, we have colleagues in the Department of Education that is not knowledgeable enough in terms of manipulating the online apps and other devices that used complex processes. This proposal was made possible in order to support and assist our fellow educators to cope up with the advent of technology and in the implementation of the different learning modalities. As facilitator of learning and one of the key stakeholder in education this proposal will be able to provide them the knowledge in order to adapt in the New Normal Education.

                          Goals

1. Teachers will be empowered with technology resources to design technology-enriched learning environments to assist students with the attainment of required curriculum objectives.

2. Teachers will be aware of the used and the significant of educational technology as an instrument for better teaching and learning experience amid pandemic.

3. Teachers will be encouraging to used educational online tool for easy and fast data gathering from students amid distance learning.

4. Teachers will be aware and assess their experience with educational technological tool for better and positive point of view of this aid. 

                   Conceptual Framework

              Significance of this PITCH Proposal

Department of Education; it will serve as a motivation for the Department of Education to allot sufficient budget for the improvement of the modalities with the vision that in lines with the better and effective use of technology as assistance to teachers by facilitating webinars and workshop about the whereabouts.

School Administrators; this will help them to determine the strengths and weaknesses of certain program based on the responses of the teachers. It will also help to determine what specific areas or google apps they should focus more and further enhance in order to make the program more responsive towards preparing the learners for their future professions.

Teachers; this will serve as motivation for better teaching and influence creativity of the teachers. It will also give them the positive outlook towards the assistance and help the friendly-user applications can give.
